Why High-End Paint Needs a Different Approach
Porsches, Corvettes, Audi R8s, and similar performance cars often wear thin, soft, or specialty paint. Some are finished in colors that show every swirl. Others have carbon fiber, aluminum panels, or factory paint-to-sample finishes that leave little room for aggressive polishing.
That changes how we work. Before any coating goes on a car like this, we measure paint thickness, inspect under dedicated lighting, and decide how much correction is actually needed. Removing the least amount of clear coat that gets the job done is the goal, especially on a car you plan to keep.
Prep Comes Before the Coating
A coating can only bond to paint that is clean and properly prepared. Our process starts with a careful wash and chemical and mechanical decontamination to remove bonded fallout, then a panel wipe so the surface is bare before application.
From there, the paint decides the next step. A newer car in good shape may only need paint enhancement. A car with visible swirls or haze may need paint correction first. Skipping this step locks defects under the coating for years.
Choosing a Coating Package
We offer three levels of ceramic coating, and the differences are mostly about durability and how long you plan to keep the car.
| Package | Price | Protection |
|---|---|---|
| Core | $950 | 3-5 years |
| Signature | $1,400 | 5-7 years |
| Ultimate | $1,900 | Up to 9 years |
Owners of garaged weekend cars often do well with Core or Signature. Daily-driven performance cars that see Kansas City road grime, summer sun, and winter salt usually benefit from a longer-term package.
Wheels, Glass, and Trim
Performance cars make a lot of brake dust, and the wheels are some of the hardest parts to keep clean. A wheel ceramic coating gives brake dust less to grip, so a regular wash removes it faster. Coating glass and trim finishes the job and keeps the whole car easier to maintain.
Keeping the Finish Looking Right
A coating reduces maintenance, but it does not remove it. Wash the car with a pH-neutral soap and clean microfiber, avoid automatic brush washes, and dry it without dragging dirt across the paint. If you cannot bring the car in, we also offer mobile detailing across the KC metro for maintenance washes.
If you own a Porsche, Corvette, or other performance car in Parkville or anywhere in Kansas City, tell us about the paint and how you use the car. Request a free quote and we will recommend the prep and package that fits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ceramic coating worth it on a Porsche or Corvette?
For most owners of performance cars, yes. These cars are driven, washed often, and judged on gloss. A coating makes washing easier and helps the paint hold its finish, but it does not make paint immune to damage.
Does ceramic coating protect against rock chips?
No. A ceramic coating is a thin chemical layer and will not stop rock chips. If you want impact protection on a front end, paint protection film is the right product, and a coating can be applied over it.
Do exotic cars need paint correction before coating?
Usually some level of it. Swirls and haze are sealed under the coating if they are not addressed first. We inspect the paint and recommend enhancement, one-step, or two-step correction based on what we find.
Which coating package suits a performance car?
Core at $950 covers 3-5 years, Signature at $1,400 covers 5-7 years, and Ultimate at $1,900 covers up to 9 years. The right one depends on how the car is stored, driven, and maintained.
Can you coat the wheels and calipers too?
Yes. Our wheel ceramic coating makes brake dust easier to rinse off. We coat wheel faces and, where accessible, the barrels, and we can discuss calipers during your quote.
