There's a big gap between a car wash that runs a vacuum for a few minutes and wipes the dash with a dry rag, and a real interior detail. One leaves the car looking surface-level clean. The other resets every surface in the cabin systematically and leaves it in a condition that holds up for months.
Here's what's actually involved in a professional interior detail, and what to look for when you're choosing someone to do it.
What a Professional Interior Detail Covers
Our interior detail service works through the cabin from top to bottom:
- Full vacuum — seats, carpet, floor mats, trunk, under seats, and all the gaps where crumbs and debris collect
- Compressed air blowout — clears vents, seams, crevices, and speaker grilles that a vacuum can't reach
- Leather cleaning and conditioning — removes surface grime, then conditions the leather so it stays soft instead of cracking over time
- All interior surfaces — dashboard, center console, door panels, cup holders, grab handles, and trim pieces cleaned with appropriate products for each material
- Interior glass — cleaned streak-free, including the windshield from inside which most car washes skip entirely
- Floor mats — removed, cleaned separately, and reinstalled
- Door jambs — wiped down, the area most details overlook
Pricing starts at $195 for a coupe, $215 for a sedan or crossover, and $235 for a large SUV or truck. Appointments run 2 to 3 hours.
Mobile Interior Detailing Across Kansas City
You don't need to drop the car off for an interior detail. This is one of our most popular mobile services.
We come to your home or office with our own water, power, and all supplies. You don't need to provide or move anything. Most clients go back inside and check back in 2 to 3 hours to a completely reset interior.
We serve the full Kansas City metro — Overland Park, Liberty, Lee's Summit, Gladstone, Shawnee, and everywhere in between. No travel fee for most of the area.
How Often Should You Get an Interior Detail?
For most daily drivers: once or twice a year keeps the interior in good shape without letting anything get embedded. If you have kids, dogs, eat in the car regularly, or have a light-colored interior, quarterly makes more sense.
Signs it's time to book:
- Visible staining or grinding on seat fabric or leather
- Sticky or grimy feeling on the console, panels, or steering wheel
- Odors that don't clear after airing the car out
- Interior glass that keeps fogging up or staying hazy after you wipe it
- Dust buildup visible in vents or along dash seams
What Separates a Good Interior Detail from a Bad One
Not all interior details produce the same result. A few things that separate quality work from a surface clean:
Leather conditioning. Cleaning leather without conditioning it is one of the most common shortcuts. Cleaning removes surface oils along with the dirt, and if you don't replace them with a proper conditioner, the leather dries out and eventually cracks. In Kansas City's climate with hot summers and dry winters, this matters.
Compressed air through vents. Vacuuming alone doesn't clear debris from inside vents, speaker grilles, or tight seams. A blowout with compressed air is what actually removes the dust that accumulates in those areas — and that's where most of the bacteria in a car interior lives.
Interior-safe products. Petroleum-based dressings make surfaces look shiny for a day, then attract more dust and leave a greasy film. We use products appropriate to each surface type — different formulations for leather, fabric, hard plastic, soft-touch trim, and glass.
Time.** A real interior detail on a standard sedan takes 2 to 3 hours minimum. If someone promises a full interior detail in 45 minutes, it's a surface clean.
Interior Detail vs Premium Package
If you want both interior and exterior addressed in one visit, our premium package covers both. It includes the full interior detail plus an exterior hand wash and paint sealant. Starting at $310 for a coupe.
Good choice before a road trip, when selling the car, or when the exterior needs a reset alongside the interior and you'd rather handle both in one appointment.
Leather vs Fabric: Does It Matter?
Both get done properly, but the approach is different.
Leather gets cleaned with a dedicated leather cleaner first, then conditioned. Skipping the conditioning step leaves leather dry and prone to cracking, especially in KC's temperature swings.
Fabric and cloth seats get vacuumed and treated for staining. If you have heavy staining, embedded pet hair, or odors that won't clear, ask about our seat shampoo and pet hair removal add-ons when you book.

It takes 2 to 3 hours minimum.
Can you remove pet hair during an interior detail?
